Kamala Harris is a true hallmark of female power and a modern-day Lady in Leadership. Coming from an ethnic background as an Indian and Jamaican woman, she stands as a representation of minorities. Her voice serves to inspire youth and bring hope for social equality. After earning the second African American woman’s seat in the U.S. Senate, Harris became Joe Biden’s vice-presidential running mate. During her debate with Mike Pence, she “kept the heat on her opponent,” setting an example of confidence and strength. Her victory spoke volumes about our progress as a nation. Among her other accomplishments, “Harris published two books in early 2019: The Truths We Hold: An American Journey reflects on her personal relationships and upbringing, and Superheroes Are Everywhere, another memoir rendered in picture-book form for kids.” Her spouse is Doug Emhoff, a lawyer whom she married in 2014. She is a proud stepmother of two children. Her position of leadership has demonstrated that all women should have the courage to dream of the unprecedented because we are responsible for reforming societal norms.
